Clean air for Bishkek

The basic idea of the project is the decrease of a level of CO emissions (15%) by reduction of consumption of fuel, through installation (30 free of churge and 270 paid)of the invented electronic ignition device and its propagation for implementation. All 300 cars will carry label with notification about using this installation.30 cars will be regularly checked by independent comission for CO emission.

Project Characteristics and Results

Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods

Ecological air parameters will be improved in Bishkek city. The planned scheme of receiving income from realization and the installations of electronic devices provide long-term stability of the project and economic interest NGO in continuation of manufacture of electronic devices.

Capacity - Building Component

Executive NGO gets experience of work in urban ecology, becomes the owner of workshop for manufacture of electronic devices.

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment

It will be emphasized, that the actions under the project, not only will result in creation of new area of services and new workplaces, but will reduce emissions of carbonic gas, that will be the direct contribution of the city dwellers of Bishkek to the mitigation of consequences of climate changes of a during realization of the information campaign.

Notable Community Participation

The population of cities owning automobiles directly participates in realization of the project. through propagation and installation of the devices

Gender Focus

The project has no obviously expressed gender approach, but the women will be invited to created workplaces

Benefits achieved by participants during implementation
- Reduction of carbon oxide (CO) in exhausts gas of motor transport, and fuel economy
- Project raised public awareness on environmental problems
Products/services generated by the project
- Road performance and laboratory trials with Device applying on 30 cars
- Propagation of information about electronic ignition device among inhabitants of Bishkek and other large cities of Kyrgyzstan
- Seminar «Clean air to Bishkek» was conducted in which participated 20 people
- 270 Devices were made and realized, that exceeded project charges: 270 pieces х 800 soms = 216600 soms (the project budget is 230000soms)
- Prepared and distributed 100 booklets, 500 information leaflets
- Published 3 articles and prepared 2 TV programs about the project and device
