Establishment of agro-forestry systems for the conservation and sustainable use of native species and medicinal plants to as an alternative agriculture for the tropical area of the South coast in the Línea C-4 Parcelamiento La Máquina, Municipality of San Andrés Villa Seca, Retalhuleu.
The project will facilitate the recovery of three endangered landraces of corn, lowland passionflower and coastal loofah, plus the organic farming of two varieties of chilies, tomatoes, and other native vegetables (hierbamora, guisquil, chipilín) that have been disappearing locally due to the use of chemical herbicides. The project also include the rescue of native medicinal plants and fruits (6 species), all managed under organic farming methods and techniques. Over two years.
