Community Empowerment in Buffer zone of Gunung Palung National Park Through Establishment of Alternative Income Generating Activities
Project development Goal :
To conserve Gunung Palung National Park through community based sustainable nature resource management
Project Objectives :
1. To raise and strengthen community awareness on the importance of nature resources conservation
2. To increase community income through development of alternative income generating activities such as fish and plant farming so that reducing community dependence on forest?s wood product
3. To gather collective support from all stakeholders through facilitating meetings
4. To conserve biodiversity through conduction of ethno botanical study and development of participatory community effort in species farming / breeding
5. To increase and strengthen community?s capability in maintaining and developing alternative income generating activities through establishment of demonstration project
6. To provide marketing access for community?s product in order to increase sustainability potential
Expected output :
a. Raised and strengthened community awareness on nature resources management
b. Increased community income through development of alternative income generating activities such as fish and plant farming so that reducing community dependence on forest?s wood product
c. Emergence of collective support from all stakeholders through facilitating meetings
d. Conduction of ethno botanical study and development of participatory community effort in species farming / breeding
e. Increased and strengthened community?s capability in maintaining and developing alternative income generating activities through establishment of demonstration project and conduction of training

1. Conduction of in dept study and analysis on ethno botanical potential
2. Facilitate and strengthen community based organization :
a. Village meetings
b. Management training
3. Establishment of alternative environmentally friendly economic activities :
a. Pre-eliminary study on potentials (PRA)
b. Develop planning
c. Capacity building : management and technical training
d. Establishment of community based economic institution
e. Provision of revolving fund
f. Establishment of productive activities : fish and plant farming
4. Conduction of stakeholders meeting and lobbying
5. Opening market access
C. Monitoring and Evaluation
D. Reporting
