Biodiversity Introduction in the Tozeur Monoculture Palm-Groves
The project of "Biodiversity Introduction in the Tozeur Monoculture Palm-Groves " has a principal objectives to found the bio diversity in the oases target in:
- Diversifying the varieties of date palms
- Introducing species fruit-bearing autochtones and adapted to the conditions of the area
protection of the palm plantations against the stranding by installing breezes winds containing common varieties and of pollinating of date palms
- Sensitizing and mobilization of the local communities
Tfe specific objectives is to
- Improve of the report/ratio varieties communes/Deglet Nour. The objective of the project and to pass from 2% (current situation) to 15% objective
- Contribute to safeguarding in-situ of the fruit-bearing species autochtones and introduction of the microclimate oasien by the introduction of the fruit-bearing species at a rate of 50 pieds/ha

The project will be carried out in the form of a pilot operation in a palm plantation led typically in monoculture. The project will draw from the lessons and will put forth recommendations in order to diffuse them with other oases
Participative Approach utilizing all the actors (farmers, professional organizations, services of development, research and formation, etc.)
Promotion of Sustainable oasis-farming for agro-ecosystem conservation, Genetic- and Natural-Resources Preservation and Combating Desertification by Palm-Species diversification
