Development of Functional Ecotourism Parameters for UNDP GEF/RNE Small Grants Programme
The project aims to undertake a consultation-workshop and other related activities to assist SGP to draw up/develop parameters and identify community-based ecotourism activities which may possibly receive funding from SGP.
Participants of the roundtable discussion shall include at least 25 representatives from government organizations, line agencies, NGOs, community-based organizations (CBOs), private sector and other organizations actively involved in community-based ecotourism projects in the areas of planning and development, policy making, implementation and management, funding, monitoring and evaluation.

A total of thirty-nine (39) participants attended representing the government organizations (Department of Tourism (DOT); Department of Environment and Natural Resources DENR) Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau (PAWB), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), intergovernmental organizations (The Royal Netherlands Embassy), community-based organizations (CBOs); UNDP and other organizations actively involved in community-based ecotourism projects in the areas of planning and development, policy making, implementation and management, funding, and monitoring and evaluation.
Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples
Best elements and practices immersed during the forum is involving the local communities (indigenous peoples), LGUs, multi-partner strategy, investing in relationship-building within the community, people empowerment entails trust from other interest groups, varying conditions mean differing solutions.
