Practical Tool for the Review, Appraisal and Monitoring of Community-Based Renewable Energy Projects
UNDP GEF Small Grants Programme has been handling increasing number of projects on renewable energy as one of its funding priorities from different community-based groups and NGOs.
The project will help the UNDP GEF SGP in the review and appraisal of renewable energy projects that are being receive for funding under the programme.
A proactive project, it aims to develop a developing practical tools/scoping mechanisms for the assessment, appraisal and monitoring of community-based renewable energy projects for non-technical people.

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
The project will provide a theoretical framework and practical guidelines in reviewing and monitoring micro-community based micro-hydropower and to develop a practical tool on the technical and social aspects of renewable energy projects in the course of project review, appraisal and monitoring of the same.
The following outputs that will make an eye-awareness:
1. A simple primer on the Micro-Hydropower that outline guidelines on project's technical, social, and watershed considerations.
2. List of activities to assess, and review project concepts and monitor projects involving community-based renewable energy like micro-hydropower.
3. Checklist/Standard Questionnaire (technical, social and watershed in assessing and reviewing community-based micro-hydropower projects.
