Completed final report received on March 18, 2005 , summarizing the following outputs/results:

1. Evinced increased capacity of project members through the produced 269,640 kg of organic
fertilizer and 6,000 litres of organic solution

2. Emergence of the followings:

- 300 rai (48 ha) of integrated farming/ forest agricultural land
- one nursery group with 27 members
-three bio-fertilizer group with 90 ,80 and 40 members

Participatory Evaluation:

Conducted on March 3-4 17, 2005 , at the premises of Baan (village) Nong Khaen Folk Lore Promotion Centre, Dongluang District, Mukdaharn Province

Participants: 351 persons from various stakeholders
Methods: Open forum, groups sessions, and lessons learnt summarization for two days

Impact:

1.During the two-year implementation of the project, fairly increased conservation awareness had been evinced through each member?s allocation of half-an-acre farmland for reversal of land and water degradation. In addition, project members demonstrated increased capacity through actively participate in the course of project activities and extension of activities. Local livelihood was seemingly gaining.
2.Non-project members showed keenness in participating with the group so as to learn know-how on organic fertilizer and plant propagation
3.Organizations at provincial and tambol level were convinced of project quality, especially on production of organic compost. These organizations provided financial support for three groups to purchase equipment for making compost powder into pellets.


Future Plan:

The project planned to keep and extend linkages to surrounding communities and local organizations such as Tambol Administrative Organization, local agricultural offices and community development offices and endeavor to secure support from public sectors.
