Technical Assistance to Develop a Biodiversity Conservation Vision Map for the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park (PPSRNP), Integrating Baseline Assessment and Validating Site Strategy
The project aims at synthesizing the Baseline Assessment Components technical reports into a consolidated baseline assessment report, incorporating the latest information from such sources as the Philippine Biodiversity Conservation Priority-setting Program (PBCPP) results and the Critical Ecosystems Partnership Fund (CEPF) Ecosystem Profile; revising the draft site strategy based on the inputs from the baseline assessments and other relevant information; presenting and refining the site strategy and the conceptual framework based on workshop consultation; undertaking the validation workshop, in partnership with the five (5) local NGOs (that did the baseline assessment components), with the three (3) target communities in the PPSRNP; finalizing the Site Strategy and the conceptual framework based on community validation and stakeholders consultation; and integrating all these information and produce a baseline map and a 5 year vision map of the PPSRNP

Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples
Inputs from the Tagbanua and Batak tribes will be taken and their active involvement are expressly encouraged and purposively elicited. A big portion of the PPSRNP overlaps with the existing and approved Ancestral Domains claimed by these tribal groups, thus the IPs welfare and activities within these domains are crucial to the overall management of the PPSRNP.
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
Results from the project's processes will be the basis for setting the direction and prioritization of the various projects proposed for livelihood and biodiversity conservation to be supported under COMPACT.
