Project # PNG41/03 - Provincial Model Nursery of Endemic Plant Species Coincide with its eco tourism programme was awarded full grant by the NSC to establish a nursery that can be the platform of regrowing useful and endemic trees species that are currently abused by the growing population resulting in a high demand on the remaining patches of secondary forests near the villages and towns of the Western Highlands Province. The project's programs provide significant capacity building components for the local people to conserve and use their natural environment ina sustainable manner.

Capacity - Building Component
The capacity building component platforms on facilitating training to CBOs in nursery management, coordination, monitoring and evaluation as well as newsletter production focusing on awareness and education on biodiversity conservation, technical and management support to CBOs programs and training other programs.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
The establishment of the Provincial Model Nursery signifies the need identified by all stakeholders to replant endemic and useful trees species that can enhance people to sustain their livelihood and that in itself promotes publilc awareness of the local and global environment as a whole.
