A stakeholders conference will be convened to address the collection and treatment of household and industrial organic wastewater, analysis of the impact on the environment of the controlled or uncontrolled dumping of organic waste in the Suriname River, especially the septic tank and latrine sludge, learn about inexpensive, but effective methods (i.e. national and international measures) to cope with this problem, and consideration of possible Surinamese initiatives and plan of action of governmental and private organizations to arrive at adequate wastewater management.
