The project has accomplished the activities and objectives planned. The main difficulty is a lack of involvement on the part of the community in the construction of new development models. The grantee responded by establishing strategies for creating interest and involvement in the proposed activities. The following activities were undertaken during execution of the project: FAMEC participation in the III Cerrado People?s Meeting and Fair; establishment of strategies fro dissemination of Forum information; interchange with Fórum Carajás; election of the FAMEC Executive Commission; participation in the International Fruit Culture Week; participation in a National Environment Fund meeting; participation in the Agrarian Reform Seminar for Cerrado Sustainable Development; participation in the First State Environment Conference; discussion on implementation of a community radio station; symbolic planting of an Axixá tree, a symbol of resistance and struggle of the forum, in the central square in the municipality of Cidelândia; participation in the Natinal Environment Conference; organization of the Environment, Gender and Health workshop. Benefits to the environment such as a reduction in the use of fire for planting in the settlement have been brought by the project.
