Project Planning for Eco-Agro Tourism and Voluntary Interchange on Organic Farms
Project Planning for Eco-Agro Tourism and Voluntary Interchange on Organic Farms
The project to be developed is composed of two inter-related sub-components. The first component, namely, Eco-agro tourism is hoped to provide an extra financial support to farmers that had taken up ecological agriculture. The project will bring together information and make it accessible by those who are interested in ecological and sustainable rural visits, to the interested farmers complying with the selection criteria, in the form of a guideline. Moreover, the project will enable a cultural interchange, a more transparent producer-consumer relationship and will support the improvement of the sense of responsibility towards ecological cycles in both groups.

The second sub component, aims to achieve a barter of knowledge and experience through voluntary training and support in ecological farms. Board and accommodation covered by the farmers, in return for the voluntary supply of information and experience provided by those who have hands on experience on technical, marketing related, social and environmental aspects of ecological production, will be beneficial to all concerned.

Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
The project development exercise as well as the project formulation is expected to be also a capacity building exercise, as to both the cultural exchange to be achieved and to the voluntary interchange of knowledge and experience from both sides.
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
The project idea has a strong emphasis on the improvement of livelihood of the particular group of farmers. The farmers in question, willing taking up organic agriculture, had made a great contribution to the sustainable utilisation of resources. With the project, they will be able to have an alternative income source, which is hoped to provide them with the incentive and motivation to further their attempts to achieve a less polluted, sustainable and well-functioning environment.
