Environmental benefit: The project contributed to integrate ecological tourism as part of the historical tourist activities particularly in sites that are significant in both the rich biodiversity and historical/cultural sits.
Public awareness: The project targeted and raised the environmental awareness of 25 tourist guides and 25 teachers from the areas of Bethlehem and Jericho. It also managed to distribute 1000 copies of documentary film, field Guide book and a poster titled ?Biodiversity in Ertas, Mar Saba and Jericho?.
Capacity building: The NGO conducted 3 training workshops in total of 24 hours on the concept of environmental education and media, significant characteristics of the floral and fauna of the selected area, monitoring wildlife, international conventions of biodiversity and wildlife conservation. They also organized site visits to the most significant touristy locations. Additionally, the project conducted two study days in the areas of Bethlehem and Jericho targeting Tourists Police, Tourists Office Mangers, Hotel Managers, Ministry of Tourism, Educational Department in Bethlehem and Bethlehem Municipality staff. The study days focused on the potential integration of eco-tourism in promoting tourism industry as its one of the sources for investments.
Influencing: These training programmes and workshops helped the grantee to initiate negotiation with the Ministry of Education and Tourism on the possibilities to include the concept of eco-tourism in the Palestinian curriculum.
