Reducing environmental load to natural countryside ecosystem through the organizing pasture rotation.
Reducing environmental load to natural countryside ecosystem through the organizing pasture rotation.
The basic idea of the project is reduction of manmade pressure on natural ecosystems in the buffer zone of the Sary-Chelek Reserve. Natural ecosystems are under very strong anthropogenous pressure, in particular, the pastures are located in the vicinities of the Chaldybar village (Kara-Suu gorge). The manmade pressure is connected with goat overgrazing. The goats were before in this place, but not in such quantity. Local NGO tries to reduce loading by introduction of pasture rotation, rehabilitations of the local springs serving as waterings for cattle. Basic elements of the project are:
1. Monitoring of pastures located in the village vicinity.
2. Mobilization of local people, local authority for solving environmental problems.
3. Organizing the pasture rotation through the dividing its area into separate zones and introduction of scheduled grazing (100 hectares).
4. Seeding in the fenced plots of regulated pastures
5. Cleaning 15 springs and construct watering place for animals
6. Conducting seminars for exchanging experience with neighbor villages.
7. Information and advocacy campaign.
