Awareness Raising, Capacity Building and Information Exchange for SGP Grantees GEFSGP STAKEHOLDER WORKSHOPS
This project seeks to intensify awareness raising on the GEFSGP focal areas together with the new operational programmes and their links to sustainable livelihoods. The project also focuses on capacity building of beneficiaries' understanding of the technical issues and pointers under GEFSGP, the area of reporting, funds management and resource mobilization for non-gefable areas.

Project Characteristics and Results
Policy Impact
Some of the participants who attend the workshops are from government departments starting from the local to national level. These are also the key people in policy making and a thorough understanding of SGP work has helped to influence policy especially the Environment Management Act (EMA).
Capacity - Building Component
The focus of this project is on capacity building of SGP grantees in the following areas:-
- Raising awareness of SGP grantees and partners on GEFSGP focal areas and new operational programmes
- Strengthen beneficiaries understanding of the technical issues and pointers under GEFSGP and how to carry out baselines useful for establishing benchmarks and indicators.
- Training on participatory methodologies
- Training on funds management and reporting
