Planning on Community Based Conservation and Management of Buton Utara
Project development goal:
Development of integrated approach in biodiveristy conservation in Buton Utara, through community participation and involvement

Project objectives:

1. To gather common perception and support of the stakeholders toward the importance of conservation efforts of the area.
2. To develop design on conservation efforts through clear identification of existing problems, local potentials, and local needs
3. To establish a recommendation toward conservation efforts in village and district level, supported by stakeholders
4. To produce a comprehensive proposal to be submitted to GEF/SGP and other potential source of funding necessary to support the project activities
Anticipated result of project :
1. The support from local community toward conservation efforts of Buton Utara Area.
2. The clear identification of existing problems, local potentials and local needs and the establishment of documentation system / data base on the necessary data
3. The emergence of common support and recommendation toward conservation efforts in village and district level
4. The establishment of comprehensive proposal supported by the stakeholders

Activities to be carried out under the project :

To achieve objective 1, the activities will be :

1. Meetings with local community, traditional leaders, local government and other stakeholders

To achieve objective 2, the activities will be :

1. Identify existing problems and analyze it?s root causes
2. Identify local potentials, traditional wisdoms
3. Establishing database system
4. Identify local needs

To achieve objective 3, the activities will be :

1. Workshops in village and district level

To achieve objective 4, the activities will be :

1. Compile the proceeding of the meetings
2. Compile general concepts on conservation planning
3. Compile comprehensive proposal to be submitted to funding agencies
