Sustainable Community Based Ecotourism in Tiga Gili
Project Development Goal:
Sustainable management of nature resources in Tiga Gili with community based approach and supported by stakeholders
Project Objectives :
1. To empower community through establishment an institution which has ability to determine it?s bargaining position
2. To establish ecotourism management focusing on sustainable and just ecosystem management
3. To foster the emergence of local government policy on ecosystem management with community and stakeholder involvement
4. To establish strong community based control system on nature resource management
Expected Outputs :
1. The establishment of community organization which has strong bargaining position
2. The establishment of sustainable ecosystem approach on ecotourism management
3. The emergence of local government policy of ecosystem approach on ecotourism management involving community and other stakeholders
4. The emergence of local community?s rules and regulations on sustainable management of nature resources which regards to ecosystem approach
Project Activities :
To achieve objective 1 : Community Empowerment, the activities will be :
1. Program Socialization
2. PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal)
3. Community Organizing
4. Establishment of local community?s rules and regulation
To achieve objective 2 : Sustainable Ecotourism Management, the activities will be :
1. Strengthening ecotourism concept
2. Awareness raising for stakeholders
3. Establishment of ethical codes for business entity
4. Implementation of Ecological Management of Ecotourism
To achieve objective 3 : Establishment of Local Government Policy on Ecotourism Management with the involvement of community and stakeholder, the activities will be:
1. Policy Advocacy
2. Establishment of community?s rules and regulation among islands
3. Policy hearing with local parliamentary board
4. Socialization of Community?s rules and regulation
5. Drafting final version of community?s rules and regulation
6. Legitimate the adoption of community?s rules and regulations to local government policy
7. Socialization on new policy
To achieve objective 4 : Establishment of community based control system, the activities will be :
1. Monitoring and Evaluation
2. Regular meeting
3. Internal monitoring
4. External monitoring
5. Evaluation
6. Reporting
