Agropecuary production and management in community Belen, Tacaná, San Marcos
This project aims to establish improve methods and techniques for animal husbandry to diminish their impact on soil degradation through the construction of improved stables, that at the same time will provide a mean to obtain organic matter to be used as organic fertilizer and diminish local pollution. The participant women will be trained on improved poultry management and enclosures. The produced poultry will improve both local families diet and income. To create a barrier to protect local forests they will establish also forraging native trees (oatmeal, local varieties of squash and "mish" trees) surrounding the existing forest patches.
