Coordination meeting was held in Minia city for all NGOs implementing Solar Energy Projects.
Purpose:
1- To coordinate in carrying out awareness activities.
2- To conduct joint training program for the technicians.
3- To determine Clearly the target area of each NGO.
4- To unify the contribution of the beneficiaries in the project.
Results:
1- The NGOs agreed to organize a joint training program that was conducted on 25th ?29th of April
2- The target areas were determined clearly
3- Due to the variation in the standard of living of the target communities, it was very difficult to unify the contribution of the beneficiaries. However it was decided to set 75% of the heater cost as minimum contribution for the beneficiaries.
The visit was made to NGO premises and project locations after submitting the first progress report.
Findings:
1. It was clear that the NGO made successful job in very short time since the project started on mid of April.
2. 13 solar heaters were installed during the 1st phase of the project. All installed units are working effectively.
3. Three awareness seminars were conducted in Itsa village.
4. Discussing the project objectives with the beneficiaries illustrated their acceptance and satisfaction of the service level provided for them.
5. Appraisal the financial documents of the project showed that the NGO has a good experience in implementing and managing the projects.
Problems:
The devaluation of the Egyptian pound has rise the price of the solar heaters which creates a challenge facing the implementation of the project.


Corrections
Due to good relations with solar heaters manufacturers and the partnership that has been established since year 2000. Solar heaters manufacturers after negotiations accepted to maintain the prices on the previous level which will be applicable for all solar heaters projects.
