To encourage small and marginal farmers to keep up plantation on wasteland.To protect nearby forest area from further degradation.To meet the fodder and fuel needs of the tribal poor.To restore and maintain the ecological balance through community action.To create works for unemployed youth of the rural areas to uplift socioeconomic condition of rural/tribal people.

The project focuses on the technical mass awareness on environment and sustainability through seminars, public meetings, orientation to the target group, it includes Wastelands (due to Jhum ciltivation) of ST small and marginal farmers will be identified with the help of village authority, Forest Range Officer and project beneficiaries. Raising of nurseries near the project site for easy access to planters for providing seedlings.Plantation works in the wastelands.

The project duration is extended till April 2006 for more effective implementation of the objectives. One to one to discussion were carried out with the organisation and it is agreed mutually to extend the programme to achieve the expected impacts.
