A baseline survey and participatory rural appraisal was carried out in ten villages and the demonstration cum skill building centre was established. The organization organized various training programmes for Gram Panchayats, Self Help Group members and community leaders. Ten villages were covered under the training and awareness programmes, involving more than 200 participants and 7 NGOs. Thirty village youths were trained in the fly ash block making technology and were then involved in production, sale and construction using the technology. The organization also developed marketing literature and a network to increase the sale of the blocks in the villages as well as small towns.
