Alataviya Juno-Crocus
Main idea of the project is preservation of endemic kinds of flowers ? Alataviya Kolpakovskogo, Juno Kushakevicha, and Crocus Alatavskiy in Kurgendoy Mountain near the Kok-Jar village. The nursery for their conservation in ex situ conditions will be created. The reproduction of endemic flowers will be ensured by planting them in native habitat, introducing temporary protective measures and demonstrating to local people alternative livelihood
The basic components of the project are:
1. Mobilization of local people and local authority for project support.
2. Taking decision of local authority to prohibit grazing during flowering period
3. Establishing nursery for flowers
4. Planting Alataviya Kolpakovskogo, Juno Kushakevicha, and Crocus Alatavskiy from nursery to Kurgendoy Mountain near the Kok-Jar village.
5. Promotion and demonstration of alternative livelihood (green house to grow bulbous flowers)
6. Publishing brochure about endemic bulbous flowers in Kyrgyzstan

Notable Community Participation
4 families participate in project planning, development and implementation. According to the agreement, the implementing NGO will hand over the greenhouse to the families for maintenance and exploitation.
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
Participants of the project will have 2 nurseries and a greenhouse that will allow them to be engaged in cultivation of flowers, both rare endemics, and usual ones, for whom market demand exists.
