Assessment of Project Opportunities on Integration of Sustainable Development Measures among the Local Communities of Protected Walnut-Fruiter Forests of Kyrgyzstan
Main idea of the project is evaluation of local community?s demands and developing methods for more deep processing harvest of walnuts forest in order to reduce manmade pressure cased by extensive and primitive harvesting.

Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
30 families in villages Arkit, 60 in the Kara-Alma, 30 in Ortok, 60 in Kyzyl ? Too will be interviewed to clarify their intension to participate in tenant association.
Capacity - Building Component
The local population is engaged in cattle breeding and plant growing. The project will help to increase employment by means of the organization of walnuts processing on places and gathering and processing of mushrooms as alternative for poaching and wood cutting. Necessity of project realization according to requirements of GEF\SGP Kyrgyzstan compels the NGOs to get an operational experience on interrogation of the population, revealing the public opinion, realization information and propaganda campaigns.
