Amphibian breeding places protection in Upper Silesia Region
Project is the continuation of the project implemented in the year 2002 (POL/01/41).
Previous activities to the mountain part of Silesia Region will be extended (180 new reservoirs and, in total-320 habitats, will be protected), new kinds of endangered amphibian will be included to the project (inter alia fire salamander, yellow-bellied toad). The aim of the project is also to inform local community about unique value of nature in the project area.
Close cooperation with schools and local administration will be continued.

Notable Community Participation
Local community, schools and local media will participate actively in implementation of project. Teachers (previously trained) and pupils from schools will monitor reservoirs and, should the need arise, inform local government about places in danger. Local government will take decisions about including project areas into local spatial management plan. When needed-they will intervene to protect endangered places. Local media will disseminate information about project ctivities and results.
