DUMALAGUING ALTERNATIBONG GIGIKANAN SA SUGANG DAGITAB (DUMALAGUING ALTERNATIVE SOURCE OF ENERGY)
The project aims to develop/install a community-based micro-hydro power system as alternative source of energy to 135 Higaonon households in Brgy. Dumalaguing, Impasugong, Bukidnon.Brgy. Dumalaguing is an upland community (750 meters above sea level) and inhabited by Higaonons. Located about 20 kilometers from the center of the municipality of Impasugong (Bukidnon), 80% of the total land area is classified as timberland. Several creeks are found in the barangay and these drain/feed the major rivers systems of Tagoloan and Dumalaguing.In addition to providing clean/renewable energy source for the indigenous communities, the project shall be able to pave the way for agricultural development, operation of agro-processing facilities such as rice and corn mill, coffee huller and abacca stripping machine and including feed formulation/processing for livestock in the area.At the household level, food (rice and corn) is made readily available thru the milling facilities.

Project Characteristics and Results
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
A significant number of community is now engaging in rice production. Some cottage industry projects are presrent in the barangay. Example to these is: Mat weaving, abaca bag weaving, rattan bag making and others.
Gender Focus
All the partners including men and women, children and elders, indigenous peoples will be involved in the implementation of the project. Critical in the post project scenario is the care and management of the mini-hydro plant. Strategic involvement of the Municipal Government of Impasugong will be ensured. The partners have agreed to use the project management committee as the policy making body of the MHP.
