That is an active environmental project that will demonstrate the technology of using wasted biomass and producing heat for the premises of Anyksciai Community Centre. The premises are also going to be renovated to increase energy effectiveness. The project will demonstrate the partnership model ensuring supply of waste biomass fuel to the Center. The society is also going to be educated on environmental issues. The centre will continue its activities in the sphere of social services according to the society needs as well.
The activities the project: 1) Installation of the efficient boiler, which uses waste biomass. The boiler will be heated with branches trimmed from the trees in the city and neighboring forest. 2) Decreasing the atmospheric pollution and waste by gathering trimmed branches and waste in the town and gathering wood waste while cleaning the forests in cooperation with the forestry and the municipality?s communal economy organization. Both organizations agreed to supply Community Centre with wood waste fuel for free based on the formal agreement with the Center. 3) The reconstruction of the ground floor of the building and the assurance of the effective usage of energy. Changing of the windows and insulation of the roof, the walls and the floor increase the effective usage of heat energy. The building will be fully reconstructed. New water supply, sewerage and building heating system will be equipped. All this will cost about 200,000LTL and will be financed by project partners. 4) Educating community on climate change and other environmental issues through seminars, lectures and publications. Leaflets on air pollution issues, efficient energy usage, waste sorting will be published and distributed. 5) Involving of the community into the environmental activities. The invitations to the spring voluntary community works and the festival of nesting-box will be published in local newspapers. There will be competitions among schoolchildren as well.
