The project aims to actively protect agro-biodiversity and to promote ecological farming activities on the local scale. The activities of the project will involve establishment of Ecological Apiary (Bee-Farm), ecological protection of the agro biodiversity, planting of rare Lithuanian species of apple-trees, and improvement of ecosystem of the lake. The Centre is going to start processing of the ecological honey as well. For this purpose special workshops will be installed and equipped. Selling of the production will be organized as well. Hosts (families) of the bees (rare old native species) that will appear later will be donated to local people. This activity will create working places for the disabled people living and coming to centre, as well as for local people as some minor assistance will be needed. Rare local apple-trees species as well as melliferous herbs will be planed, as well as ecological kitchen-garden will be cultivated in the lands of the centre. For the popularization of the ecological farming seminars and workshops on the cultivation of ecological farms and apiaries will be organized for the people from the centre and local community. The information is also going to be spread through various media, information stand will be constructed, educative leaflets will be published and distributed. The centre will also organize educational events on environmental issues for local people, as well as voluntary works for the cleaning of areas near the lake.
