The following activities took place during execution of this project: finalized plant nursery for wild potatoes; expansion of the shadowed area of the nursery for fruit trees; baru collection; praparation and management of collected seedlings; wild potato colleciton in July and September; weeding (exotic weeds) of previous SGP Brazil project's reforestation area; tillage of new reforestation area near the village; meeting with 4 Xavante Villages from the Pimentel Barbosa Reservation. The community members were trained, and their traditional knowledge was rescued by the passing of knowledge from the elder women to the younger. A first draft of the brochure was attempted. The right moment for reforestation was awaited. The potato sprouts were ready to be transferred to the wild, form the nursery. By resotring the nutrition of the Xavante Indians, less deforestation is needed, which can help preserve the largest continuous stretch of Cerrado still standing, totalling 329,000 ha. 90% of this is Cerrado habitats, the remaining 10% is transition with the Amazon. The activities of this project will be disseminated in the near future in the form of images and videos.
