Seed-plating of maxán, beans and organic hot peppers through the participants training in the Village Chuachinup, Nahualá, Sololá
55 women will be directly beneficiated through this project, and hot peppers, maxán and beans will be organically cultivated in 55 cuerdas (Capsicum annum L., Maxán and Phaseolus vulgaris L.). Training will be mainly focused in soil preservation through living terraces, the elaboration and application of fertilizers, and organic pesticides and fungicides.
This project intends to eliminate the use of chemicals for agriculture for soil improvement, to obtain organic seeds for the beneficiaries, the community women in training, to gain income through the sales of the crops and the improvement of food quality.
At the end of the project it is planned to share experiences with a neighboring community not using organic agriculture, in order to share with them techniques on how to solve the depletion of soil problems and the contamination of neighboring water sources
