Impetuous development of the cattle breeding is a tendency for present for the southern regions of the country. The unutilized cattle wastes increasing methane and carbonic gas in the atmosphere, and also they become a source of epidemics and distributions of weed plants. Despite of a huge volume of cattle-breeding wastes, there is no any manufacture to extract methane out of cattle wastes and their processing into organic fertilizers. Cattle-breeding complexes use coal and wood for forage preparation and premises heating. The second problem is land degradation.

The project is directed to implementation of industrial biogas installation to produce biogas and organic fertilizers, and to organization of the center on distribution of experience of manufacturing and operation of biogas installations as an alternative energy source and non-polluting fertilizer. The project will be implemented in Zhyaly district of Zhambyl province.

As the project result a complex industrial biogas and organic fertilizers manufacture (the first one for Kazakhstan) will be established. The complex is going to annually recycle about 2000 tons of excrements and produce 120 thousand m3 of biogas, which will reduce methane emissions into atmosphere. Manufacture of organic fertilizers at about 300 tons per year will improve land fertility and prevent further land degradation processes. A biogas informational centre will be established to provide people with consultations on biogas issues.
