POWER FROM WIND - PROMOTING SUSTAINABLE PROVISION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY
POWER FROM WIND - PROMOTING SUSTAINABLE PROVISION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY
The project seeks to contribute towards climate change mitigation by providing cheaper alternative energy source from the wind, create self-sufficiency through income generating projects and promote people centered natural resources management for local and global benefits.

The objectives for Temaruru Community Power Trust include the following:
1) To install a wind turbine to supply electricity to the school, clinic and pump water for the irrigation scheme
2) To upgrade wind turbines at the business center and support the production and marketing of farm produce.
3) To provide energy efficient stoves to reduce the rate of firewood consumption
4) To engage in afforestation activities that include the planting of jatropha and moringa trees
5) To raise local level awareness on climate change, energy conservation and efficiency issues.

specific expected results
by the end of the project we will have achieved the following
