Rock Water Harvesting & Storage For Nguu Division
Rock Water Harvesting & Storage For Nguu Division
This project is implemented in co-operation with the Embassy of Japan. The Embassy is funding the hardware of the project (e.g. pipelines, buildings etc.) while UNDP GEF SGP is funding the software of the project (e.g. capacity building).

DWHH/GAA has already established such rock catchments in two other areas (Nthungui and Mwingati) with a total of 3 water tanks. The present project aims at helping the two communities plus an additional one with the construction of 6 water tanks of 300 m³ to increase the availability of fresh water.
The project area is drought prone (droughts occurring every 3-5
