Community based Energy Generation Husk Bio Mass-A pilot Project
The objective of the project is to reduce the dependence of rice miller?s on gird power and to fulfill the future power demand in the area of Gangavathi Taluk, Distt. Koppal bygenerating power in a decentralized manner so as to reduce the grid load and transmission losses in the project area. The project also aims to attain regional self-sustainability in captive power generation and to reduce fossil fuel based power generation in order to contribute in reducing Green House Gas (GHG) emission levels.

? Training for local community for implementation of project activities. and sharing of the villagers in the low cost structures ? Management and Operations for the water harvesting structures, training was provided to the villagers
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
? With increase in availability of fodder and water, animal husbandry has become strong. The milk production which was negligible in past has increased to 300 liters in present. This has led to access loans for the communities from banks. ? Annual income of almost all the families has increased 2 to 4 times. The annual income in this village per family has increased from Rs. 3000 to Rs. 15,000 per annum.
