Eco-System Conservation & Protection of Sareswar Beel (Wetland)
The aims of the projects are:-
1) To create environmental awareness among the villages surrounding the beel for biodiversity conservation and eco-friendly development.
2) To protect the beel from situation problem, illegal fishing and encroachment activities in the beel with the help of active participation of local people.
3) To save and protect the habitats of migratory aquatic and endangered species of birds as well as aquatic plants and animal of the beel.
4) To develop the economic conditions of the villagers by taking some sustainable development training programme and formation of SHGs in the line of agriculture, livestock, farm forestry, hand loom etc. This will help conserve the ecosystem of the whole area.
5) To protect and conserve the traditional practices and knowledge of the villagers (tribal people). The development will take place through utilizing the traditional practices of the local tribal villagers in the line of weaving handloom and traditional agricultural practices of the local tribal villagers in the line of weaving, handloom and traditional agricultural practices etc.
6) To stop over-exploitation of natural resources of the area such as valuable trees of the nearby forest, aquatic faunal species of the beel with the help of local people.
To achieve the project purpose, the following major activities will be taken up with the active participation of local people as follows:-
1) Awareness/motivation camp will be organized with the active partipation of local people/villagers for conservation of environment and biodiversity.
2) Education programme on conservation of environment and nature will be organized for the local youth.

Gender Focus
Preference will be given to the women in the area for smooth implementation of different activities of this project. 2 SHGs have already been formed among the women in the project area.
Notable Community Participation
The community will actively participate in the project. The local communities will be involved as partners in the project and efforts will be directed to improve the socio-economic condition of the local communities by taking some sustainable development training programme in the line of Agriculture, Handloom, poultry-piggery, afforestation, etc.
