Project Characteristics and Results
Gender Focus
All the beneficiaries of the project are women. Trainings and meetings have helped women understand the identification, cultivation, maintenance, processing and marketing of the medicinal plants. In terms of co-financing, women have planted medicinal plants in their house and are maintaining them. With more benefits women could understand the importance of medicinal plants, which will strengthen the sense of ownership in them.
Notable Community Participation
Project beneficiaries are women from SHGs of the three villages. Participation of the beneficiaries is satisfactory. In terms of funds, beneficiaries have extended co-financing in terms of land and maintenance for the cultivation of medicinal plants. Looking at immediate benefits of the activities, women have decided to go in for more medicinal plant cultivation and are now asking NGO for more seeds for cultivation.
