Mogod spring and 4 linked lake?s long-term eco system conservation and sustainability
Mogod hot spring is one of the most valuable natural resources in the sum. The spring was left abandoned since early 90s and became a place where village residents come and wash clothes and other laundry. As washing takes place, a considerable amount of many toxic detergents is used every year. Detergents used by people have destroyed micro-organisms and are significantly shortening the life of 4 small likes fed by the hot spring. The grant is to assist a local community to conserve an ecosystem which includes one hot spring and four small lakes with an intension to further develop the area as a hot spring resort for local herders and tourists by taking a number of protective and preventive measures for the ecosystem. Two places where springs take their origin have been fenced and planted with tree seedlings. Some clean-up and rehabilitative measures were taken. More activities will be taken in the near future.
