Cataloging and Promotion of Natural Monuments in Albania
In Albania there are 766 Natural Monuments acording to the IUCN definition of areas of specific natural or natural/cultural features of outstanding or unique values. Despite their restricted territorial coverage their potential for hosting irreplacebale biodiversity values is significant.
This project implemented by local NGOs and coofinanced by the Albanian Ministry of Environment aims at bringing the information and the beauty of these sites ?only a few clicks away? at the fingertips of users through construction and distribution of a specific GIS database
