Demonstration of environment and economy benefits originated by processing of abscised leaves and rests of agriculture plants in compost pit and biogas installation in comparison with incineration in the Chonjargylchak village, located in the lakeshore of lake Issykkul ? center of Issykkul biosphere territory
Cattle breeding and plant cultivation are the main sources of income in the villages of Jargylchak Aiyl Okmet. Manure is the main way of fertilizing plough land and local people store them on the fields under open sky. The other way of fertilizing is burning of vegetation remains on the agricultural fields and leaves in the gardens. Both ways are sources of emission of methane, carbonic acid and other products of low-temperature burning.
The main goal of the project is demonstration of economic and ecological benefits of applying of biogas technologies and composting.
In the course of project implementation it is intended obtaining of the following results:
- decreasing of greenhouse emission volume and emission of Persistent Organic Pollutants
due to reduction of using dried manure and burning of vegetation remains as fertilizers.
- decreasing of direct expenses for fertilizers application
- decreasing expenses for heating of Jargylchak primary school
- raising public awareness about greenhouse effect and their global significance
- raising engineering knowledge on biogas plant manufacturing, installation and their exploitation
- enhancement of domestic environment in the Jargylchak aiyl okmet
Actions to be undertaken by Public Association «Kok-Bulak»:
1. Conducting seminars and round table.
2. Construct biogas plant and compos bunker.
3. Install heating system with biogas in school and nearest houses
4. Promote ecologically clean fertilizing
5. Organize collection of leaves and organic rubbish in 4 villages.
6. Publishing calendar and brochure.
7. Information campaign.
Inhabitants of farms of Jargylchak aiyl okmet, employees of Center of renewable energy, members of PF ?Kokbulak? and ?Karek? will be involved in project implementation.
The main project activities will take place in the farms and territory of Chonargylchak, Kychyargylchak, Akterek, Jenish.
The main expected ecological and economic benefits of the project are:
Reducing of greenhouse effect and Persistent Organic Pollutant formation are the main ecological benefits of the project. The gas received from biogas plant allows decreasing of expenses of school heating. Humus fertilizer will allow reducing of expenses for nourishment, even to sell excess of it. Applying of biogas plants reduce using of kizyak (dried manure), it results in improving sanitary conditions inside the houses and outside in the court yard.

Project Characteristics and Results
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Information campaign and training actions of the project are directed to demonstrate for local population the necessity of using modern non-polluting technologies for daily life. It will be emphasized, that these measures provide a low level of emission of the gases creating greenhouse effect and by that soften consequences of climate change.
Inovative Financial Mechanisms
It is expected that the project will help to introduce new financial scheme based on principle: fertilizer in exchange for manure and dead leaves
