Kyrgyzstan has huge potentials of solar radiation thanks to its continental location and absolute heights of its territory. This potential is not used because of weak public awareness about solar devices? efficiency, constructive disadvantages of local devices, high cost of imported Turkish and insecurity of Chinese devices.
The main goal of the project is training population to produce more effective and with low-cost solar devices than the ones that exist in Kyrgyzstan.
In the course of project implementation it is expected to obtain the following results:
Ecological
- decreasing of greenhouse effect volume, due to reduction of firewood burning for water heating
- decreasing of desertification and afforestation in adjacent area to nut and juniper forests
Economic
- decreasing of direct expenses for firewood purchasing
Socio-cultural
- raising engineering knowledge on solar devices producing, installing and their exploitation
- availability of warm water in the house

Actions to be undertaken by Public Association Youth Ecological Movement ?BIOM?:
1. Conducting seminars in Bishkek, Osh and Issyk-Kul regions.
2. Organize trainings to teach local people to construct solar equipments in 20 villages around the Kyrgyzstan.
3. Conducting seminars for school teachers and pupils.
4. Organizing exhibitions in 7 regions of Kyrgyzstan.
5. Inventory of solar energy in Kyrgyzstan.
6. Publishing brochure and posters.
7. Conducting information campaign.
Population of 20 settlements from different parts of Kyrgyzstan, pupils of 8 schools (where exhibitions of State and Osh Technological University will permanently function), members of PF ?Biom? and Norwegian Society for Conservation of Nature
The main activity under project will take place in settlements located nearby with State reserves, National Nature Parks in each oblast of Kyrgyzstan.
The main expected ecological and economic benefits of the project are:
