Bio divrsity conservation in three villages around Knucles Nature Reserve by Kandurata Sobadaham Protection Social and Economic Foundation
Bio diversity conservation in three villages around the Knuckles Nature Reserve for the activities of Awareness raising and collection of data on flora and fauna of the Knuckles range for the used of school children and other visitors, river bank conservation for bio diversity conservation, rehabilitation of a neglected reservoir to supply villages with water for irrigation, conservation of a area of 30 acressubject to landslides and income generation activities for villages. The stakeholders will be educated on knowing the correct boundaries of forest cover and give their utmost participation to protect same, adopt appropriate technical methods in conserving soil, water management and irrigations systems.
The villages are expected to change their daily activities and life style after the completion of the project as presently they are engaged in destruction of forest cover, usage of irregular methods to irrigate the soils which ultimately amounts to degradation of soil etc. When they realize the importance and valuability of the project, they will get them selves educated on the following: Knowing the correct boundries of forest cover and give their utmost participation to protect the same, to prtect the forest cover from outside harmful activites, to adopt latest technical methods in conserving soil, water management and irrigation.

It is expected t increase the living standards and hcange the life style of indigenous people of hte area by educatiing them on modern technology and using their income, so that they will give their maximum participation towards the success of their project.
Policy Impact
It is expected to introduce the micro agricultural technology to increase the production of the private lands and make them aware of the proper management of the lands therby developing their standardof living which will help them to increase knowledge on managing the forest cover and making use the latest methods to increase the productivity.
