Wetland ecosystem conservation project in Bolgoda by Panadura Field Study and Research Center
Establishing environment societies in 3 selected schools of the area and train them on selected topics (syllabus provided) and award certificates, prepare training kits, conduct field trips, publish a newsletter "Viyana" leaflets and a book on Bolgoda, develop selected home gardens on river banks into ago-forests.
The entire project will involve the participation of the community. The members of the households living immediately in the riparian zone of the Talpitiya canal and upstream. The project also intends to work with the Irigation dept since the bund of the Talpitiya canal comes under their perview.
