Bio diversity conservation & addressing sustainability through skills development & income generation activities (Ext to community bio diversity project) by Pahala Uva Sanvardana Kendraya
To establish a producer and collection centre for rural agricultural products and crafts, find new markets for products, certification of products, further training for farmer groups and craft producers, revolving credit scheme, construct a laboratary/producer center with equipemnt and storage facilities
This project is planned for Nilgala forest conservation through participatory management aiming at environmental protection. Participatory strategies were used when planning the project as the benefits of the project will be felt by the people living around the project
Particpants from 37 villages are included i this project. Their capacities will be built on alternative livelihood methods, gender equity,introduction of financial mangement, sustainable forest conservatio methods, skill deveopment programme on marketing approaches.
