Emberale Forest Conservation project
The Emberale Forest Conservation Project is implemented by the CBO, Emberale Forest Conservation Project whilst management and admin. support is provided by the Niugini Wildlife Society Inc. The project aims to carry out awareness and conservation activities in the Kompiam community to mobilize the community and local resource owners to secure a 470km.sq forested area and further establish it as a Wildlife Management Area (WMA), to be preserved and protected as the area is home to some the most endangered species including the PNG Bird of Paradise.
