Middle Asian gazelle inhabits within the bound of Margunskaja ayil okmot. According to experts, it is the last population of Middle Asian gazelle (5-6 gazelles), surviving in the northern slope of Turkistan range. The main reason of their disappearance is degradation of forage fields, refuges and poaching. The problem is complicated by locating of mentioned plot on the boundary zone and openness from Tajikistan side.

The main goal of the project is conservation and increasing of Middle Asian gazelle?s population through the rehabilitation of their habitat (planting of saxaul, pistachio, almond saplings and restricting of cattle pasturing) and organizing community based patrol. Voluntary patrolling will be stimulated by rendering uniform, horse and binoculars.

Actions to be undertaken by Public Association Public Foundation ?Marbital?
1. Conduction of seminars and round tables.
2. Fencing the planting territory.
3. Planting saplings and seed of haloxylon, pistachio, almonds and southernwood.
4. Distribute planting lots among the local population.
5. Organize community based patrol.
6. Pass a resolution to announce this territory as community reserve.
7. Make research to find out the causes of biodiversity loss and the gazelle threats.
8. Publishing brochures and posters.
9. Information campaign
4 families of Margun village, members of PF ?Marbital?, hunting experts, employees of Batken forestry will be involved in the project implementation.
