New Distillation Unit for sustainable Management and processing of NTFP Project
The cooperative is currently extracting the essential oils from wintergreen, Juniper leaf, juniper berry, artemesia, abies, anthopogan and calamus and selling them in the international market. But the cooperatives is using iron linining vessels for the distillation unit which produce less quality essential oils. Thus the project aims to installed 3 steel lining distilation units with capacity of 500 Kg/ hr boiler in three clusters of Dolakha. The project would also train the NTFP collectors for the sustainable harvesting of the NTFPs. After the successful installation of S/S lining of the distillation unit in three cluster, more FUGs, disadvantaged users and pro-poor communities would be mobilised and the essential oil produced by the new distillation unit would be of superior quality with higher market price.
