POPs issues aren?t well-known for the public. This lack of information leads to thoughtless actions, such as setting aside of uncovered transformers, uncontrolled garbage incineration, especially during mass spring subbotnics. As per expertise, Pavlodar area is the most problematic with respect to POPs, as the biggest power stations and chemical production are placed here. Thus, information sharing about POPs is of the highest priority.
During the project a number of activities will be realized, such as conduction of seminars for the decision-making leaders of amongst of local authorities (heads of rural districts, municipal departments, cooperative housing, etc.); discover the ?most problem? districts to concentrate the main part of the project activity; involvement of students of environmental courses into information campaign to set up a training team for conducting seminars and meetings with local people; design and widespread booklets and leaflets about POPs; arrangement of seminars, trainings and meetings with local people, dispatch information though mass media.

In general, the project promotes public awareness raising about POPs in the regional aspect, prevents mass garbage incineration, especially during the city accomplishment actions.
