Awareness of the population about POPs is low. In the meantime, people collide with POPs in everyday life, and even do not know about potential danger which POPs bear for health and life. Creation of tools and mechanisms promoting realization of the Stockholm convention, in particular, through involving of the public in global process of POPs destruction is necessary.

The project is directed on informing of the population, government representatives, nature protection departments, NGOS about POPs; increase comprehension and the role of the public in settlement of the problems of revealing, storage, liquidation of POPs stocks, their negative influence on health of people and environment.

Within the project realization a number of activities are planning to be implemented: coordination of the actions under the project between NGOs of various regions of the country, Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Kazakhstan; republican sanitary epidemiological station; mass-media; carrying out of discussion of the project and the problem on-line in Internet; preparation and carrying out of the information action; preparation of press conference; development and distribution of leaflet " We are against POPs", magazine " Terra-Zher-Ana"; arrangement of lessons and lectures about POPs at schools and universities.
