Phytolits - chance for development for Siedliska village
Unique site of fossilized trees ( Taxadioxylon 13-14 million years old) can be found on the Polish-Ukrainian border near Siedliska.It is illegally excavated and sold despite the fact of legal prohibition since July 2004 when rerstriction were officially imopsed and became operational..Project is a part of greater efforts for creation of Polish-Ukrainian UNESCO MAB Biosfere reserve On Polish side are 3 valuable reserves landscape reserve Solokija (7,43ha), peatbog reserve Zrodla tanwi (186,73ha) and fiorest reseerve Jalinka (now3,8 ha to be enlarded about 52ha).Museum in Siedliska will become a local center for eco-tourism, activisation center for local community and starting point to 3 reserves;
Reconstruction of museum will enable organisation of green schools, workshops for organized groups, sevices for tourists (thanks to produced in 2004 TV film number of tourists dramatically grew in 2005);
another products: 12 bike road from Hrebenne to siedliska, guide-book describing bike route and all reserves;preparation of protection plan for enlarged reserve Jelinka; scientific expertise about the geographical range of fossilized trees , also in ukraine;
Project is a very complex one, of ecological,economic (income generation from eco-tourism for local community),socio-cultual and political (work on MAB Biosphere reserve).

Complex activities of the project became a very good instruemnt for getting new skills (eg. writing projects, management of projects) for people who 5 years ago could see only fragmented local community,not organized, without vision for improvement;
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
Development of complex touristic facilities and services will generate extra income for local community, in a very poor , forgotten part of Poland
