Management of resources in Bukit Melunggung, Indung and Kelampai through ecosystem rehabilitation and water usage
Project development Goal:
Increasing the community capacity to conserve and rehabilitate the ecosystems at the hills as water catchments area
Project Objectives:
1.to conserve the ecosystems at the hills as water catchments area
2.to enhance community participation in hill conservation and as water users
3.to empower communities in dealing with local government; the proposal include provision of drinking water, micro-hydro power plant, development of rice fields
Expected Output:
1.83,000 trees (chocolate, dipterocarpaceae, durian, rubber) planted in water catchments areas
2.One conservation mapping area
3.One MOUs among kampungs and between the kampungs and the local government on forest management
4.Six women and three man followed organic farming training
5.People of kampong Maung, Seluyang, and Kenayang developed farming system in down hill areas.
6.30 people followed leadership training
Activities to be conducted:
1.Community organizer
It consists of: (a) Coordination; (b) Consultation; (c) Village meetings
2.Forest rehabilitation and conservation area
This activities consists of: (a) Selecting site, clearing and collection of materials; (b)Buying seeds of chocolate, dipterocarpaceae, durian, rubber; (c)Planting all of seeds
3.Capacity building on organic farming and organization.
This program includes: Trainings and Comparative Study
4. Monitoring and evaluation
Monitoring and Evaluation activities will be conducted 3 times during the project implementation period. These activities will be conducted in participatory manner to provide interim opportunities for communities to conduct adaptive management. The activities will be documented as part of accountability measure, verify report and promote share learning among project participants and beneficiaries
