Conservation measures in a Tamir river's ecosystem
For the last years the water-table of Tamir River has been lowered due to illegal cutting of willows and improper use of natural resource. The project supports a local community initiative to take a conservation measures in a section along Tamir river. The local community are establishing a tree plantation in 2ha area in order to rehabilitate willow grove along Tamir River. Also they intent to plant fruit trees and establish a small brick production workshop for their livelihood enhancement. This project will be a good model of linking locally protected area management with sustainable livelihood of local communities.
